Fifth Blog Google Classroom on Our National Dress

 Class: IV

Subject: Social Studies

Topic: Our National Dress

Google classroom is a free web service developed by Google for schools that aims to simply creating, distributing and grading assignments. The primary purpose of Google classroom is to streamline the process of sharing files between teacher and students. Google classroom can benefit my students as a way of learning through paperless. In today's time due to Covid 19 pandemic students are asked to stay at home and as a learning the teacher from all around the world are using Google classroom as one of the way to teach and I think this is the best tool we teacher can use to continue teaching and learning.

Creation of the teaching material

Step 1: Sign in to Gmail account then on the right corner I clicked on Google apps and Scrolled down till I found Google class room then I clicked on that.

Step 2: I clicked on the plus sign at the right corner, and then I clicked to create class. after that I filled up every required information one by one. I created class for grade IV students based on Social Studies subject.

Step 3: To add the students and co-tutor, I have clicked on people option and I invited both co-tutor and students through their email. I have invited one co-tutor and two students. I can also invite my students through sharing the class code.

Step 4: I have changed the theme, to change that I have clicked on stream and selected the theme of my choice.

Step 5: To make aware of what they are going to learn in the class, I made use of announcement dialog box therefore in my first announcement I wrote welcome note as well as information to make them aware of the subject.

Step 6: To upload assignment, question and materials, I clocked on class work and create and uploaded required materials.

Step 7: To upload materials I have clicked on "materials" and I have to write title, instruction description for particular reading materials. Finally I clicked on attached file option and uploaded the materials.

Step 8: To create quiz assignment, I clicked on quiz assignment option; I have to write title, instruction or description. I clicked to create option to complete assigning.

I have framed quiz question on the topic "Our National Dress" (5 questions)

Instructions for the use of content-based materials

I will be using the content-based material i.e. the Google Classroom throughout the three stages of the lesson that are lesson introduction, lesson development and lesson conclusion. For this Google classroom I will be uploading weekly plan of teaching as well as required materials when ever students need. I will even assign work, assignment, and let them do quiz. I will also allow my students to submit their work paperless and I will even evaluate their work and provide grade based on their quality of work. As a teacher I might have to take leave then I can cover up missed class by uploading learning activity on today's topic. Instead of simply wasting time, I can provide required materials and make them do few activities which they can do. From my point of view if I create Google classroom, I don't have to explain my lesson through face to face. I think it is advantage during this particular time (pandemic). For that reason even if we teacher can have face to face teaching using Google classroom to provide enough materials and for easy evaluation of their work I think we teacher must use Google Classroom as an extra platform.
